[ IMPORT / EXPORT ] ANSI Mouse provides two export options. You may export the text to a TEXT file, or you may export the text to a resource. The type of the resource may be chosen in the Options dialog under the Special menu. The default resource type is 'HTxt', the standard message text resource used by Hermes, the premier Macintosh BBS Software. When you have a message you'd like to keep, it's a good idea to save it as an ANSI Mouse file (using Save on the File menu) before doing an export. All you need to do to export your text is choose from the Export submenu on the File menu. If you choose to export to text file, you will enter the name to give the file, and it will be output to that file. If you export to a resource, you will be presented with an open file dialog so you may choose the file to export the resource into. ANSI Mouse will not create a resource file for exporting, you must already have one. A common use of this feature is exporting text to an existing Hermes message found in the Hermes Shared file. If you're a Hermes sysop, make sure the text resource type is 'HTxt' (the default). After choosing the Export to TEXT Resource option from the menu, find your 'Hermes Shared' file and open it. You will then see a list of all of the text resources in the Hermes Shared file. Click on the one you'd like to replace and then click OK. If you want to make a new one, type in the name to give the resource and click New. The Import text options have not yet been implemented in this version of ANSI Mouse. As long as you have your text creations as ANSI Mouse documents, you may load them back up and edit them and re-export all you want. Import support will be available in the future (for those unfortunate ones who made their messages with TheDraw, etc..)
